Doing A Good Turn for New Hampshire
Scouting for Food
Each year, on the first weekend of November, Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Venturers, Explorers, and their leaders come together to participate in Scouting for Food, one of the largest community service projects conducted by Scouting America.
During that weekend, Scouts distribute door hangers throughout their neighborhoods, letting residents know about the upcoming food drive and providing instructions on how they can help.
On the following Saturday, Scouts return to collect the donated non-perishable food items that have been left outside. The donations are then delivered to local food pantries and community organizations, helping families in need throughout our communities.
This simple act of service has a tremendous impact each year, providing thousands of meals to local families while teaching Scouts the importance of helping others and giving back to their communities.
The deadline for units to order door tags is October 1
