Youth Protection Training Policy

You are here:

All adult volunteers are required to comply with the National Council Youth Protection training requirements. This training is mandatory for all BSA registered volunteers and serves as a prerequisite for joining.

Key points include:

  1. Mandatory Training: To reduce confusion, and to align with the National policy,
youth protection training must be completed by all volunteers every two years.
  2. Active Registration Compliance: Volunteers must have a current Youth Protection
training record. Noncompliance will result in the inability to reregister until you’ve
    completed the training.

The National Council sends out automated reminders for YPT through my.Scouting currently, the emails are scheduled to be sent at 90, 60, 30 days, and 2 weeks from the expiration date.

The Daniel Webster Council will continue processing all unit recharters that meet the National YPT training policy. Click here to read more about the Boy Scouts of America Youth Protection Training requirements.
