Scouting America has honored John Arico with the Silver Antelope Award, recognizing registered Scouters of exceptional character in their territory for their distinguished service to youth. This prestigious award highlights John’s extraordinary dedication, leadership, and commitment to strengthening Scouting at all levels.
 
For over two decades, John has exemplified service and leadership, impacting local, national, and international Scouting. As Council Commissioner, he played a crucial role in strengthening unit service and expanding commissioner support. John’s strategic leadership was instrumental during the COVID-19 pandemic, ensuring that units remained strong, engaged, and safe. His leadership has extended to National and World Jamborees, where he served as International Commissioner, Subcamp Commissioner, and Basecamp Admin Officer. Additionally, as a Council Executive Board Member, he provided strategic leadership and direction to advance Scouting initiatives. John has been deeply involved in leadership training, having served as a Wood Badge Course Director and Staff Member. A Vigil Honor in the Order of the Arrow, he embodies the spirit of selfless service, dedicating himself to supporting Scouts and volunteers at every level.
 
This well-deserved recognition celebrates John’s passion for empowering youth and strengthening Scouting for future generations!
