Through the generosity of donors, we are pleased to provide several fee assistance programs.

If you are seeking financial assistance to join, re-join or renew your membership, please ask your unit or chartering organization for assistance first.  We do this because many units and charter partners offer help.

Unit Request for a Membership Fee Coupon

  • Coupon can be used only once for either joining or re-joining Scouting
  • Maximum of 50% of Council Fee
  • Quantities are limited and on a first-come first-served basis

Youth Membership Fee Assistance

  • Families earning $100,000 or less are eligible for up to 100% of the Council Fee
    OR
  • Families regardless of income level are eligible for up to 50% of the Council Fee
  • One submission per family
  • Applicants will either receive a joining coupon if they have not yet applied to be a member or will receive reimbursement for the amount awarded.
  • If fees are paid in full by the unit on behalf of the applicant any awarded scholarship will be deposited into the respective Unit Account held by the Council to be used at the Scout Store or for paying any obligations owed to the Council.
  • Applicants will only be entitled to one scholarship, meaning if the applicant receives a coupon from the unit and uses that coupon to join Scouting, then they are not eligible for the Youth Membership Fee Assistance.

Family Membership Fee Assistance

  • Families have three (3) or more registered Scouting America members in your household. 
  • A maximum of $50 per household may be awarded and will be distributed on a first-come-first-served basis.
  • One submission per family.
  • Applicants will receive reimbursement via check.
  • If fees are paid in full by the unit on behalf of the applicant any awarded scholarship will be deposited into the respective Unit Account held by the Council to be used at the Scout Store or for paying any obligations owed to the Council.

Summer Camp Scholarship

  • Please complete a separate form for each Scout you’re applying for.
  • Deadline: March 14th, 2025. Only forms received by this date will be considered for scholarship funds.
  • Camp Scholarships will cover no more than 50% of the fully discounted camp cost.
  • Eligible programs for Scholarship:
    • Camp Carpenter: Day, Overnight, Akela (Family).
    • Griswold Scout Reservation: First Week-long session attended
  • Not eligible for Scholarship: Counselor-in-Training, National Youth Leadership Training, and Provisional. AOL Bridge and Den Chief at Camp Carpenter.
  • Decision Notification: All decisions will be communicated by April 1st, 2025, allowing families and units ample time to make attendance decisions.
