Swim Check Training

After completing this training, individuals will be knowledgeable about swim classification tests' purpose and procedure. With the accompanying certification listed below, they will be certified to run swim classification tests for units in Daniel Webster Council. Completing swim classification tests on a unit level prior to summer camp allows for a faster, easier check-in when arriving at summer camp, and allows units to safely run aquatics activities year-round, promoting fun, fitness, and rank advancement.

To conduct swim tests for your unit you need to :

1. Attend and participate in the virtual training session.

And EITHER

1. Be 21+ years of age and hold one (or more) of the following certifications:
   • Aquatics Instructor, BSA
   • Aquatics Supervision, Swimming and Water Rescue, BSA
   • BSA Lifeguard
   • Red Cross Lifeguard AND Safe Swim Defense Training*
   • Red Cross Swimming Instructor (or comparable) AND Safe Swim Defense training*
   • Swimming Coach AND Safe Swim Defense training*

*If holding only certification D, E, or F, provide proof of online BSA Safe Swim defense

OR

1. Hold one (or more) of the following certifications:
   • Aquatics Instructor, BSA
   • Aquatics Supervision, Swimming and Water Rescue, BSA
   • BSA Lifeguard
   • Red Cross Lifeguard AND Safe Swim Defense Training*
   • Red Cross Swimming Instructor (or comparable) AND Safe Swim Defense training*
   • Swimming Coach AND Safe Swim Defense training*
2. Be accompanied by a qualified supervisor who is 21+ years of age, holds proof of online BSA Safe Swim Defense, and has also attended this training.

*If holding only certification D, E, or F, provide proof of online BSA Safe Swim defense
