The Daniel Webster Council is excited to announce Scouting for Food 2.0. As you are most certainly aware, food insecurity is a significant issue affecting thousands of families in New Hampshire. Just this past week it was announced by the White House that close to 11 million kids don’t have enough food to eat. We want to make an impact in our communities by doing what we are known for – service to others! The pandemic has only amplified the need for food and is increasing the urgency to address hunger. As you know, the Daniel Webster Council has annually helped address this need of food insecurity through action by organizing a Scouting For Food collection each November across the state. This past Fall was the 33rd collection organized by the Council. To respond to this crisis we have identified many community grocers who have stepped forward with a willingness to work with the BSA to coordinate a drive at many local grocery stores in many communities throughout the State.
Please join us for an informational session on Tuesday, March 2nd at 5 p.m. for more information on how your unit can participate.
Our target dates for the drive include:
- March 20th 9 am – 3 pm
- March 27th 9 am – 3 pm
- April 3rd 9 am – 3 pm
- April 10th 9 am – 3 pm
