This class is for those who would like to become a certified Range Safety Officer. The NRA Range Safety Officer (RSO) program was developed in response to the demand for a nationally recognized range safety officer certification. To become an NRA Range Safety Officer, you must pass the RSO course and demonstrate that you possess the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to organizing, conducting, and supervising safe shooting activities and range operations.
Topics include range inspections and rules, range safety briefing, emergency procedures, firearm stoppages and malfunctions, and the standard operating procedure.
This event will include coffee, water, and light snacks. Participants will need to bring their own lunch.
Prerequisites:
NRA Range Safety Officers should be experienced shooters, involved in many aspects of target shooting, training, and range supervision. The NRA encourages active shooters to learn more and become responsible for the safety of fellow shooters through this program.
