Thomas D. Rath & Bank of New Hampshire

2019 Distinguished Citizens Award Recipients

Thomas D. Rath
Distinguished Citizen

“National Impact. Uniquely New Hampshire.” The tagline for the Rath Young & Pignatelli law firm Tom Rath founded is equally fitting of Tom himself. As a former Attorney General, a widely respected lawyer who focuses his practice on education, non-profit, government relations and public affairs matters, a trusted advisor to Presidents and presidential candidates, and a longtime community volunteer, Tom is one of New Hampshire’s most distinguished citizens, dedicated to shaping a brighter future for our state and our communities.”

Bank of New Hampshire
Distinguished Corporate Citizen

Bank of New Hampshire is the oldest and one of the largest locally-owned bank in the state. From its beginnings in 1831, it has played an integral part in New Hampshire’s growth and prosperity. The bank has a long history of providing financial support to Granite State non-profits and strongly promotes volunteerism, making an immeasurable positive impact on the communities it serves.

A Note From Our Chairman

Dinner Chairman
Jim Merrill
New Hampshire Director, Bernstein Shur Group

“I am honored to serve as chairman of the 46th Annual Distinguished Citizens Award Dinner and thrilled to have this opportunity to recognize both Tom Rath and Bank of New Hampshire for all they’ve done for the Granite State. In addition to honoring these two New Hampshire institutions, the dinner raises funds for the Daniel Webster Council of the Boy Scouts of America. As a former Scout and a volunteer in my son’s Boy Scout Troop, I know that the Scouts have a proven method for shaping leaders of strong character and they play an important part in addressing some of our state’s greatest challenges. I hope you’ll join me in supporting the Scouts and celebrating the achievements of our honorees.”
